EQ V/s IQ

Emotional Quotient (EQ) refers to an employee’s understanding with his /her company mates in order to establish a good and a nice relationship with each and everyone in the company so that a better working condition can be achieved in order to maintain a good working atmosphere. As a result, a nice and better interaction would yield to earn large profits and which would help the company progress.

Intelligence Quotient (IQ) defines the level of intelligence an employee possesses to understand, interpret, and implement one’s knowledge in all kinds of situations which help for his/her personal growth as well as the growth of the company also so which would help the person tackle all kinds of situations.

IQ is mainly used to measure one’s abilities to learn and enhance his development which helps the person to tackle different situations in his/her life. Reasoning through a given predicament or setting, and the ability to apply one’s knowledge in current circumstances. Emotional Intelligence (EI) skills do not limit themselves to sympathy, intuition, imagination, flexibility, stress management, management, truthfulness, genuineness, intrapersonal skills and interpersonal skills, but extend far beyond these. When working in an organization a person has to take some decisions which are actually based on emotions that are certain decisions would help him other but might affect others as a result decisions should be taken with a lot of care. While judging an individual’s EI, we should keep in mind these few points.

In an organization, each and everyone should develop communication and organizational skills which each and everyone who is working in an organization for his or her betterment. An individual’s success rate at work depends on his or her EQ as well as IQ. As a result, both are equally important.


EQ helps to make better and best decisions by considering and respecting each and everyone’s feelings, as a result, a well-established relationship can be maintained with each and everyone.. IQ can help you be successful to be successful only up to a certain level in life. The entire success depends on your EQ as well as IQ.


During the hiring process, corporates look at an individual’s EQ rather than IQ. Having a high IQ helps in building both intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, as a result, it helps in overall personality development.  EQ will also help in responding in a better way to clients in an organization because responding to clients is important both In terms of intelligent as well as by considering emotions.

 

Similarly IQ scores as also important in order to get admission in a school or college and even for placements as aptitude rounds consist of certain logical reasoning questions also. They are also used by social scientists who study these scores and compare these scores with individual scores for performing job satisfaction. Better the IQ score the quicker it helps in solving logical problems and puzzles.


Moreover,  EQ measures the ability to sense, understand and effectively apply the power and acumen of emotions to felicitate high levels of collaborations and productivity, managing emotions will help in making a proper decision, improve production. Emotional Sentimental is best inculcated from an early age by encouraging qualities like sharing, thinking about others, putting oneself in another person's shoes and also reduce conflicts and will help in leading a happy and stressless life-giving individual space and the general principles of cooperation. There are games and other playing stuff available like toys to increase emotional intelligence, and children who do not do well in social settings are known to perform significantly better after taking SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) classes. Intelligence Quotient Advantages

♦ An intelligent child might do well in professional career.

♦ A brilliant child may perform well in academics and studies.

♦ An academically skilled child is oriented towards a scholarly attitude or a poetic attitude because of his or her way of thinking.


Disadvantages

♦ An intelligent child who is rich in IQ but poor in EQ may not be a successful person in leading a life free of tension and stress.

♦ Poor emotional intelligence in a child, may not understand others and in addition, he or she may not develop a sense of self-awareness.

♦ A child that is poor in emotional skills may not develop social and emotional competence at all.


Emotional Intelligence Advantages

♦ An emotionally stable child has very good social skills and he or she can lead a life free of stress, strain, pressure and deep emotions. In other words, mental health in such children may be very good.

♦ An emotionally competent child can survive with greater societal challenges and strife.

♦A Child with strong emotional quotient is adept in adjusting his or her life to changing situations and scenarios.

♦ A child with better emotion quotient can easily manage emotions in a better manner.

 

Disadvantages

♦ A child with poor IQ may not be able to succeed in a professional world that demands academic and scholarly skills.

♦ A child with lower IQ may find a traditional classroom very boring and difficult.


Both IQ and EQ are just like right and left eyes.  Both are equally important .survival without each other is impossible.In today's world being intelligent with brain and emotions really matter a lot. One important aspect that makes EQ in children is the manner in which they are nurtured in their early life. Family conflict, grief, negativity, conflicts, separation, medical problems and a series of other issues could affect the emotional balance of a child. Hence, parents need to nurture their children in a tension and stress-free environment. In addition, emotional support, counseling, and guidance are very much required to ensure proper training in acquiring this all important skill. Guidance from the beginning is at most important to have an equal balance in life.

In the end, both IQ and EQ are equally important. A mathematical way of representing both are IQ + EQ = workforce of the future.
