While many kids later drift on to other dreams and ambitions like astronomy or sports, a significant number remain fixated on this idea of being able to help people and save lives. An MBBS or other dental course is rigorous and there might be a time when a person wants to change his/her field. So what are the other career options for Doctors?  

It takes a lot to become a doctor. Hours of studies at a stretch sitting at a place and mugging the complex words. After all this struggle also, people are not satisfied with the “Dr” prefix and want to break the chain. 

A study conducted in 2010 by The Physician’s Foundation suggests that around 40% of doctors planned to give up their original career field. Instead, they chose to retire or pick up a non-clinical job. But, being a doctor is not the only profession you can have with a medical degree. Many are unknown to this fact. 1. Forensics

6. Sports Medicine

  • While working at the front lines in dealing with patient care is important, what is of even more importance is working towards finding cures and remedies for the disease which can be used for patient care.
  • Medical research as a career involves that. The job involves conducting clinical trials and researching chemical compounds and the effects they have on the human body.

8. Photography

  • Medical photographers use their creativity and photography skills too, you guessed it, take pictures of the human anatomy.
  • These photos and videos not only help patient care but also help in textbooks and health publications.
