Have you always wanted to create your website? Do you fear that you’ll have to pay loads of money to create your website?

Have you always wanted to start a blog on your site but are clueless about how to go about it?

The solutions to all the aforementioned issues lie in just 3 Simple Steps!

Introduction

WordPress is one of the world’s most popular tools for creating websites, both free and paid. This article will tell you how easy to use it is.

Step 1: Go to WordPress.com

This is the very first step towards building your website. You’ll see this on your screen:

Click on Start your site.

Step 2: Type the name of your domain

The domain name is the address of your website.

Tips to choose an apt domain name:

  • Keep it relevant to your purpose
  • Keep it simple and easy to remember
  • Try to keep it short

An example is given below for the website of a blog.

Several suggestions are provided by WordPress itself. You can choose an appropriate one which you find to be the most suitable and relevant for you.

As you can see above, except for 2 suggestions (which include ‘WordPress’, the rest are paid).

On clicking on a paid suggestion, this will appear on your screen:

Note: The following demonstration is based on an unpaid domain suggestion. However, an unpaid version which does not include the mention of ‘WordPress’ is preferable and more suitable for professional purposes.

Several plans, as can be seen above, are present and can be chosen from.

Step 3: Congrats your site is created

However, a lot is still to be done.

After having created your site, you’ve come to a point where you have to give shape to your site and make it attractive.

You can see in the image below a multitude of requirements provided under the Site Setup List.

  • Give your site a name

This is an extremely essential step as the name of your site is going to act as an identity of your page and it’s one of the first few things your viewer will know about you. ( Remember: Well begun is half done!)

  • Update your Homepage

This will help you add color to your page. This step involves creating your homepage by adding relevant images that are text to your website.

  • Launch your site

Until now, your site has been created but is visible only to you and those you invite to view your site.

Only after launching your site will it become visible and accessible to the public.

  • Get the WordPress App

This is an optional step and you can choose to skip it.

Tip: Downloading the application will make access easier and you will be able to manage your site from your mobile.

The post following all of the above steps, your basic site is created!!!

In the above figure, you see a lot of tools on the left. All these tools help in customizing your website according to your requirements.

You can even see the option of viewing your Statistics. This helps you analyze the popularity of your page and see the traffic.

This will eventually be extremely helpful in helping you market your page accordingly.

So, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and create your website!

After all it’s going to take you just 3 simple steps.
