How We Can Make Our Education System Effective?

Want to make our education system even more effective? Then check out the rectifications!

Education is the process of acquiring knowledge and skills which the society expects from the growing children. A good education helps in developing a better thought process. Also, facts that are related to learning.

In the education system,  we usually refer to public schooling and not private schooling. And more commonly to kindergarten through high school programs.

Similarly, an education system contains everything that educates public school students. There are still many flaws in the Indian Education System which need to be rectified to make the learning experience more fruitful!

Primary or elementary education includes students between the age of 6-14. These are the first steps towards education.

It is a compulsory education both by law and in common. Also, it is essential to send children within this age group to school. A large number of children between the age of 6-11 years has been sent to schools says the research. There are many things which need to be incorporated in today’s classrooms to make the learning more effective.

It is the central point of the education system and comes after primary education. Secondary education is followed after six years of primary education and is followed by higher education, training, or employment. Secondary education is from the 6th-12th standard.

Higher education takes place after completing secondary education. Education offered in colleges and universities is termed as higher education. It is usually a three year or four-year course. Through higher education, one can get a bachelor’s degree.

In India, there are 180 universities and nearly 4500 colleges (approx) that provide higher education. Many specialized institutions provide higher education. The government also grants commission to colleges and universities.

Both the public and private sectors provide education in India. The central, state and local, all the three sectors control and provide funds for the education. Education is the fundamental right for students between the age of 6-14. It is an institution in itself.

Several issues are existing in the education system of India. Education being the fundamental right is not still accessible to all. The quality of education in government schools is zero.

1. Half of the country does not have access to proper schooling and education and only a few students go to colleges.

2. By law, it is compulsory to send children between the age of 6-14 to school. Even then, the results are not satisfactory.

3. The quality and education in government schools are poor.

4. We have fewer government schools compared to private which makes education difficult for poor people.

5. The quality of the Mid-day meal given to students at government schools is not good.

6. Private schools are highly expensive and not everyone can afford.

7. Universities have fewer seats and more quotas.

8. The quality of teachers in government schools is also poor.

9. Education being an institution has now become a business.

There are more serious problems in our education system.

1. More government schools

Firstly, there is a need for more government schools with proper facilities, quality teaching. In that way, education is also accessible to the poor section of the society.

2. Strict laws

We need strict laws in education. Also, the strict implementation of those laws to make our education system effective.

3. Good quality teachers

We need quality and trained teachers for students, especially in government schools.

4. Skill-based education

Schools should focus on skill-based education rather than knowledge and learning. As the skill remains forever, this will also reduce dropout rates. It will help in building skilled manpower.

5. Reward creativity

Our education system does not reward original thinking and creativity. Thus, we need to change our education system. So that both the marks and intelligence can be measured.

6. Use of technology

The use of technology like smart classes to help students learn innovatively. This will be more engaging and interesting for students.

7. Assume responsibility

Teachers should know their responsibility and teach students. There should be timely and proper training of teachers to adapt to changes. Today, a teacher’s job is the most carefree, safe and risk-free job.

8. Redefine the purpose

Redefine the purpose of the education system. It should make people skillful. Moreover, the education system should produce innovators, creative minds, artists, writers who can build the nation.

9. Not a profit-making venture

Education is not a profit-making venture. It is an institution to educate everyone. When it becomes a business then it becomes expensive which results in less access to people.

10. Reservations

Last but not the least, we must check reservations in education. Reservation gives more chances and opportunities to the ones who don’t deserve it. Deserving students lack all these. Therefore, we must check and revise these policies.

Conclusively, all the above points along with a list of many others can make our education system effective.
