If you also have this question at the back of your mind, “Can MS Word 365 help in work?” Then you have come to the right place. I’ll answer just that.
Are you a student who goes to school, college, and university? Your tuition homework is still pending, and you still need to catch up on that story you started writing. But you left your notebook at home. How you wish that you could have completed it right now, in the cab as you travel back home.
Well, now, welcome to the 21st century, the Gen Z, where everything is run by technology. You have smartphones, laptops, tablets and iPads, providing access to a load of features to help with your daily tasks.
Before we see whether MS Word 365 helps with work or not, I would like to explain.
What is Microsoft Word?
It is a software developed by Microsoft, that helps me type/write my articles, essays, and research papers and store them all in one place. With just a click of a few buttons and all my work is stored safely in my system.
Initially, the software did not gain much popularity. But as times changed, so did the needs of the people. After a few upgrades in the software, it gained popularity. Mostly for its feature of copy-paste, which does not change the format of the text.
Besides this, the platform provides a vast variety of features so that the user can work at his/her convenience.
I can type my text in different SIZES, in different FONTS, to match the type of work I do. Since the pandemic, this has become my go-to platform. From typing notes to doing my assignments, and even my tests, I have used this app more than any other.
During the online spree, when the world was in online mode, I used this extensively. While logging on to my online classes, I made sure to open a different window of a Word document, to type in whatever was important.
The Microsoft Family
We are all familiar with the founder of Microsoft, Mr Bill Gates. He started the company alongside Paul Allen back in 1975. To be exact, it was 5th April 1975.
Fast forward to 5th April 2022, Microsoft family members are everywhere. The family has its members living with us in the form of apps in our system. Just like every member of a family is unique, so is this family.
Unique in all its functions, but dedicated towards the service of mankind. Some of the traditional family members are PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Access. Platforms like PowerPoint help us in presentations to explain our work in a better format. Excel is more on the technical side, helping with calculations.
This is done through the shortcut feature of mathematical calculations. Enter a complex formula through the click of a few keys, and you have the answer in front of you. This is widely used today by companies in order to keep track of their finances, merchandise shipments, and various other things.
Family Gathering
Getting access to the Microsoft family is like having a family, caters to all your tech needs. You can buy this family in the form of a laptop or a tablet.
Buying a laptop or a tablet is not a small decision, mainly due to the cost factor, from the Indian consumer standpoint. Even a consumer like me feels that after buying a laptop, I would not have to worry about it for the next couple of years.
But recently, a new member of the Microsoft family has decided to upgrade their standards and charge more for advanced services. The new member is Office 365.
Office 365
What is Office 365? Well, to put it simply, it is an all-rounder of the family. Brings together all the different platforms provided by Microsoft in one space. Giving the user access to all of its features from one point.
As a fresher to this topic, I researched it for a while. Being a typical Indian consumer, the same point came to my mind. Then why should I pay extra for the service, which I can get for a specific price?
Every laptop has a refresh rate of over 3 years. Meaning once a laptop is bought, the consumer does not have to worry about buying a new one for the next 3 to 4 years.
After venturing further into the topic, I realized what is this all about. Office 365 helps and sort of completes the family for the better of all. Using different platforms is fine and everyone does.
But only a few get access, to premium features, which come with 365. For instance, with 365 you get access to dark mode, for the Word document. This means the canvas you write on will be of black colour, providing comfort to your eyes, during sleepless work nights.
Also, it brings along the feature editor that would help in correcting grammatical and spelling errors. Similar to something like Grammarly.
Besides this, it provides up to 1 TB of storage space and access to the one-drive feature of Microsoft. Thereby, helping the user to store their documents at a commonplace and get access to the same from anywhere around the world. From their laptop, tab, or even their smartphone.
Besides MS Word 365
Besides Word, advanced features like the animated background in PowerPoint presentations and spreadsheet conversion are offered in Excel.
Office 365 has a lot to offer. But spending money on technology like this depends on user to user. Some just want to stick to their basic functions, which do the job for them. But for professionals, this investment would be a wise one.
This technology has so much to offer and the ability to take your work to the next level.
